The Corporate BS Translator is a free tool that turns corporate jargon and buzzwords into plain, clear English — and can also inflate everyday work into corporate-sounding language. It is built for anyone who has to read corporate-speak and wants to know what it actually means.
What it is
A two-way translator. In one direction it decodes jargon from job postings, HR emails and boss-speak into plain English, surfacing hidden intent like manipulation, layoff risk or unpaid overtime. In the other direction it dresses up ordinary work in polished corporate language. It is a web application — no install required.
Who it's for
Job seekers trying to read between the lines of a posting, employees decoding a reorg or HR email, customers making sense of a vendor's wording, and journalists or researchers untangling corporate-speak. The free tier covers everyday use; a Pro plan adds longer inputs and the hidden-intent read.
How it works
Paste your text, pick a direction (To Corporate BS or To Plain English), and pick a voice. The text is sent to an AI language model that produces the translation, which is returned in the browser. Decoding (jargon to plain) also flags the likely intent behind the wording.
The glossary is curated
Alongside the translator there is a browsable jargon glossary with plain-English definitions of common buzzwords — what each term means, what it hides, and how to read it. Entries are written and curated in-house, not auto-generated.
Privacy
The text you submit is sent to our AI provider to produce a translation, and may be cached for up to 30 days so identical requests don't re-run; cached entries are not linked to your identity. If you create an account, we store your email and a one-way hashed password. We do not sell your data. Full details are on the Privacy Policy page.
Independence
